Biography

Barbara Jachimska is a Professor at the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences. She has M.Sc.in Material Engineering and Ceramic and an M.Sc.  in Environmental Protection from AGH University of Science and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. with honors in chemistry and a Doctor of Sciences (Habilitation), both received from Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences. Barbara Jachimska works in the area of polymers, proteins, and the assembly behavior of biopolymers, especially studying adsorption, adhesion, and interfacial phenomena in the nano-colloidal system.

Research interests:

- Combined experimental and simulation study to probe the orientation, conformation, and organization of proteins at interfaces;

- Development of an analytical method for understanding molecular aspects of the protein misfolding process;

- Analysis of dendrimer-protein interactions and their implications on potential applications of dendrimers in nanomedicine;

- Structure and Function of Protein Corona at the Nanoparticles Interface;

- Proteins as a platform for designing biologically active carriers;
