Dr. Austin B. Plymil

Austin Plymill graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor's in Materials Science and Engineering and recently obtained a Ph. D. from Northwestern University also in Materials Science. Austin worked in Prof. Sossina Haile's group on developing electrochemical systems based on solid acid electrolytes including fuel cells and ammonia to hydrogen systems. Austin is currently a postdoc at The Chemours Company, where he's working on the development of the next-generation of hydrogen technology. Broadly, he is interested in electrochemistry, energy technology, and bridging the gap between discoveries in the lab and real-world applications.
