Andrea Gargano

Assistant Professor

Andrea Gargano is a tenure track assistant professor at the van't Hoff Institute for Molecular Science, University of Amsterdam. He received his MSc in from the University of Pavia (IT) and his Ph.D. from the University of Vienna (AU), did his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Amsterdam (NL) and has been guest research associate in several research labs in EU and USA (LBNL, PNNL, NU).

In his research, he focuses on the development of analytical chemistry technology (separation science and mass spectrometry) for the characterization at the molecular level of the organization of bio and synthetic macromolecules. To achieve this, his emphasis is on the development and application of advanced LC-MS technologies such as low flow separations, multidimensional separations, new separation materials, mass spectrometry for large molecules and native mass spectrometry.
