Dr. Amr Abdel-Fattah

Petroleum Engineering Consultant, Saudi Aramco

Dr. Amr Abdel-Fattah is a Petroleum Engineering Consultant at Saudi Aramco's EXPEC Advanced Research Center (EXPEC ARC) where he is leading the In-Situ Sensing and Intervention Team and the Upstream Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials program. He has invented, developed and deployed some of the industry's first nanotechnology-based oilfield materials, tools, and concepts for upstream applications, including multiple award-wining products. Prior to Aramco, he spent 15+ years with Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Technical Staff Member and reached the Senior Scientist status. 

Dr. Abdel-Fattah has over 33 years of R&D experience in experimental and theoretical colloid and interface science, electrokinetics, microfluidics, and stimuli-induced phenomena in colloidal materials. He has records of peer reviewed publications; plenary and invited presentations; journal editorships; patents and copyrights; chairing and organizing of international conference; and mentorship of postdocs, graduate students, and junior scientists and engineers.

Amr has Ph.D. in Engineering and M.Sc. degrees in Nuclear Engineering from The University of New Mexico, USA; and M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt.
