Dr. Amber S. Hinkle

Amber S. Hinkle is a Vice President for Covestro, with joint responsibilities as Plant Manager of the Covestro Channelview Texas Site and for Operations of global Joint Ventures with LyondellBasell.  In 25 years with the company, she has held a variety of roles in manufacturing and HSEQ, with her professional work having been recognized with a national Women in Manufacturing STEP Award.  Amber also has passion for developing leaders, facilitating team-building, and strategic planning.  She is Past Chair of the national ACS Women Chemists Committee.  She is currently the Lead Facilitator for ACS Strategic Planning Retreats; as well as Councilor for the Greater Houston Local Section and Chair of the ACS Committee on Nominations and Elections. Amber has been an ACS Fellow since 2012 and is very honored to be the 2020 SWRM recipient of the E. Ann Nalley Award for volunteer service to the ACS and the 2022 National Award Recipient for Volunteer Service to the American Chemical Society.
