Physically and chemically accurate multiscale models of complex catalytic phenomena are critical to the computer-guided design of next-generation catalytic materials capable of addressing the energy and sustainabliltiy challenges facing humanity. The primary challenge to scientists and engineers is connecting the atomic-scale, first-principle energetics of reaction and activation to the macroscopic reactor performance representing the well-known pressure and materials gap of catalysis sciences. This symposium will promote the exchange of ideas and knowledge on methodology and applications of multiscale models in catalysis applied to the energy and sustainability.
