Alexa is a chemical engineering Ph.D. candidate and GAANN fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology where she works under the supervision of Professor Blair Brettmann. Her research focuses on the formulation and processing of high viscosity, dense paste composites. She completed an internship in 2023 at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where she studied the mixing of 3D printable (DIW) pastes using resonant acoustic mixers with Dr. Zac Doorenbos. Previously, she completed a thesis-based chemical engineering M.S. as an ACS Bridge fellow with Professor Paul Kohl at Georgia Tech., which focused on developing catalyst slurry formulations for improved durability in anion exchange electrolyzers. As an undergrad she worked on analytical and computational chemistry research for 3 years as a MARC scholar with Professor Callie Cole and obtained a B.S. in chemistry with a minor in mathematics from Fort Lewis College.
