Dr. Alexander Samokhvalov is an Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry at Morgan State University, USA. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, and received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry at Novosibirsk State University in Russia.
The first long-term research interest of Dr. Samokhvalov is mechanistic studies of sorption by metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for drug delivery and mitigation of hazardous pollutants. He has published a monograph on the topic: https://doi.org/10.1201/9781315367439
The second interest is development of high-resolution solid-state synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy, SS-SFS for characterization of functional materials and sorption/desorption.
The third interest is development of new in-situ and Operando spectroscopic methods of studies of sorption/desorption in heterogeneous systems "solid-gas" and "solid-liquid".
